Don’t Play the Cards You’re Dealt

“You gotta play the cards you’re dealt.” This saying reflects the idea that we can’t control much of what happens in life; that we are simply passive. In Church, this phenomenon is often described as a generational blessing or a generational curse. Now there is some truth to it, we are profoundly impacted by the decisions of those who have gone before us. But does that mean we’re destined to play the cards we’re dealt? What if those cards are cards of pain, loneliness, and wounds? Today we’ll see the invitation of Jesus to Don’t Play the Cards You’re Dealt.
