At first glance, we might wonder why we would consider Samson to be an unlikely hero of the Bible. He was called by God from conception and anointed to be a real-life superman. However, Samson had some serious character flaws, and yet God chose to call him to be a deliverer for Israel in their time of trouble.

We will see in this message that God is working within the framework of a fallen world to bring about His redemptive purposes in His world. God doesn’t only work with people who “have it all together.” We will also learn that there is a terrible price to pay for compromising with sin in our lives individually and even nationally. But our great hope is not in earthly champions but in Jesus Christ our
