Paul invites young pastor Timothy in II Timothy 1.8, “join with me in suffering for the gospel.” Yikes! Jesus’ words as recorded in John 16.33 remind us that difficulties, sufferings, and tribulations are certain, begging the Question, “How does the Christian endure?” In this morning’s text, Paul exhorts Timothy and us as to the Answer, “Better know WHO and WHAT you believe!”
