The central thought in the letter of Paul to the church in Philippi could be summarized to say, “Only in Christ are real unity and joy possible.” Today we will be talking about unity and humility as essential ingredients for a joyful and Godglorifying church.

The apostle Paul is writing to this church in a troubling and hostile time. But it is not only written to them. We find ourselves in troubling and hostile times as has the church down through the ages. These are words for us.

Let us press into the truth today that we might be conformed
more to the image of Jesus, our Lord!
